See, sometimes you will feel like as if your router needs to be rebooted. To perform this operation, you will either unplug it from the power supply or just reboot through the phone.
You have the option to control all the aspects of network from the phone itself. This is useful when you have configured multiple Google WiFi Support units on the network.
If something goes wrong with any of the Wi-Fi, then the best thing to do is; powercycle that network by disconnecting all the devices. In case you perform it manually, you will have to turn off the Wi-Fi from each room by unplugging the power adapter. Have you ever tried to bypass this cumbersome task? If not, then we want to mention here that powercycling the device can be done from the phone itself if Google Wi-Fi app is installed in it.
If you really want to reboot the Google WiFi Setup, then install the app in smartphone and scroll down to last option. From here, you can open ‘Advanced controls’ of your Wi-Fi.
Go to the ‘Network and General’ tab. The network section is given on the top of the page, where you will find the ‘Wi-Fi points’ option.
The second option is ‘Restart network’. Click to proceed further. You will find a warning message on screen which says, ‘Your device will go offline for few minutes’. So, wait for a few minutes.
This is how you can reboot your Google Wi-Fi from a smartphone. Now we are going to discuss steps for creating and using family labels on Google Wi-Fi.
Google W-fi includes some practical tools that can be used for managing the home network. One of them is its ability to create labels from groups. You can pause or start any device immediately through it.
To use this feature, you again need a Google WiFi Login app on your phone. Scroll down to click on ‘Settings’.
Click on ‘Family Wi-Fi’ followed by a little label in the bottom.
You will find a screen on which the guided instructions are given. Click ‘Next’ to read the next step. You can use ‘Kids’ or the name of a family member in this section.
After entering the name, go to the next step where you need to add the devices to the group. Here, you need to pay kind attention because any single device, if missed by chance or being wrongly intercepted by Google Wi-Fi, may result in severe problem.
After selecting the right devices, go to the next page. You will find the devices added in the group named ‘Family’. You can start or stop any device from this group.
If you want to remove or add any new device to this group, then it is possible by just clicking on the upper right corner of the screen. Here, you will find detailed device list. To pause any specific device in the group, just click on that device and open ‘Drop-down’ menu.
